Our basic agreement is to follow the Berkowitz and Manley book Precision Today, Chapters 1 to 11. Departures:
- After making a 1D response to 1C, responder's second bid does not show 5-7 HCP. It could just be a runout with presumably no HCP.
- Opening 2NT is 20-21
- Over 1C - 2M, 2NT is natural
- On the auction 1C - 1NT - 2C, 2C is Stayman. Furthermore, responses are reversed: 2D is negative. 2H shows spades, and 2S shows hearts. These bids say nothing about HCP. Show a club suit by bidding 3C.
Book notes:
- Take out double of a major should have other major and 3 of other unbid suits. This presumably applies to take-out doubles up to 4H and also to balancing doubles of an opening bid.
- Over 1C - 2M (weak jump shift), the 2NT bid by opener is natural
- After 1C - 1NT - 2C (Stayman), 2D is negative, 2H shows 4 spades, and 2S shows 4 hearts.
- I am not sure how the 1C opener shows a club suit over a 1 NT response.
- When 1C is overcalled, my book notes say that a negative double with more than 7 HCP is okay. But I think we agreed recently that the negative double is 4-7 HCP.
- Redwood: Over the 2C opening bid, 4D asks for aces. Over the 2D opening bid, 4H asks for aces.
Other
- Over 1D - (X), bidding a major shows a five-card suit. Pass with a 4-card major.
- (1H) - X - (2H) - P - (P) - X is a very strong hand, say about 18+.
- Over an opening 2D bid, the jump to 3 of a major is a splinter. I think this could be interest in slam, depending on if opener has wasted values. Or it could be looking for 3NT and asked for a good suit opposite the singleton. Either way, opener can rebid 3NT with wasted values opposite the singleton.
Support doubles are on in all possible situations. When responder has shown a 5-card suit, the support double shows two-card support. Bidding another suit implies lack of support.
2/1 is always forcing to game, except 2C over 1D.
Responsive doubles are on only when partner has doubled, but they are on when the opps have changed suits.
Redwood. Over a 2C opening, 4D asks for aces. Over a 2D opening, 4H asks for aces.
1430 with the queen-asking bids. Probably the void-showing bids too, not that I exactly recall them.
Bergen raises, not in competition.
Misunderstandings
We have two auctions that we did not agree on a meaning. There doesn't seem to be a general principle to discuss, but I will list them for completeness.

1NT - P - 2C - P - 2H - X. Is the double for penalty or takeout? This actually came up on the Precision auction 1C - P - 1NT - P - 2C - X - 2H - X.
On the auction 1S - 1NT (overcall) - 2C, Liz plays 2C as forcing, I do not.
Super-Acceptance (and just Good-Acceptance)
Over Jacoby transfer for the majors, 2NT shows 3 trumps and 16+ points. Rebid below the suit again requests transfer (e.g., 1NT - 2D - 2NT - 3D).
In the minor-suit transfers, super-acceptance shows at least 3-card support and 16+ points.
